AATRN
Applied Algebraic Topology Research Network
Bringing together researchers across the world to develop and use applied and computational topology.
Find out how you can participate and join AATRN, the Applied Algebraic Topology Research Network. Membership is free, and all of our events are free. Also, please check out all our content on our YouTube channel, which has over 575 videos, over 7,500 YouTube subscribers, and 20 hours watched per day! We invite you to join the following activities, which we are currently organizing:
August 18-22, 2025. This week-long conference is in celebration of the 10-year anniversary of AATRN. AATRN will be “geometrically realized” in-person at the Institute for Mathematical and Statistical Innovation in Chicago, USA!

The Networks seminar covers applications and theory of how network structure is revealed through topology and algebra.
Co-organizers: Daniela Egas Santander, Jānis Lazovskis, Henri Riihimäki, and Jason Smith
This seminar, organized by Dan Cohen, Jesus Gonzalez, and John Oprea, focuses on topological complexity and related topics.
Many thanks to romullus for use of the image, taken from this fantastic model.
Our most recent poster session was on November 10, 2023, jointly organized with CIMAT (Centro de Investigación en Matemáticas, Guanajuato), as part of the 9th Mexican Workshop on Applied Geometry and Topology!
Stay tuned for our next poster session!
The Vietoris-Rips seminar considers connections between applied topology, quantitative topology, geometric group theory, topological combinatorics, etc.
This seminar ran 2021-2023, but is currently paused.
